During the pandemic, we stayed home like everyone else. At first, we were really anxious about closing the store. After all, we have been open for many years without anything like this happening! But, after we were able to get things in order for the “new normal,” we looked at this as an opportunity.

We actually had “Sister Sundays” where we spent some quality time together making blingy, handmade greeting cards outside on the porch in the beautiful Florida weather! We also got to spend time with Hank, Tracy’s son who is a graduating senior this year. Soon, he’ll be off to UCF (University of Central Florida) to study engineering and business, so we really cherished our time together.

Best of all, we had time to think about the future of our beloved business at length and how we could move forward in a positive direction. Tracy actually became a DIY lucite barrier “architect” in addition to an award-winning jewelry designer!

When she realized that this would add an extra safety precaution for our customers and staff members, she took it upon herself to learn all about these barriers. 

In fact, she mapped out the store to figure out exactly what we needed. This undertaking required a lot of thinking and a lot of creativity, too!

​She sourced the materials from two companies, assembled and modified the barriers where needed and then with the help of Teresa, our great team member, installed them over a two-day period. Without any training, she created a safe and beautiful space for everyone!
